WHO WE ARE
Barking yoga is a Berkshire based business, delivering yoga classes where you are surrounded by puppies in Berkshire and the surrounding areas
WELFARE
The puppies welfare of the puppies is most important thing to us and everyone involved. Upon purchasing a ticket you are agreeing to a standard of behaviour we expect during the sessions. The way the sessions are run are an hour long session, a half hour break where the puppies are put in their crate away from people in a quiet area then another hour long session. The puppies are only in the venue for three hours in total, this includes half hour before participants arrive so the puppies can get used to their surroundings. During the session there is always water available to the puppies and they get fed at a time which the breeder has advised us. Participants are told to expect that puppies will be asleep during the sessions and they do not get woken up. Participants are also told to allow the puppies to roam freely and interact with participants how they wish so they are not overly handled, anyone seen to be overly handling the puppies gets asked to stop and could be asked to leave. The breeder is present during the sessions if they wish, which they are 95% of the time.
AGE OF THE PUPPIES
We run puppy yoga classes when the puppies are 7-8 weeks old, days/hours before they can go to their new owners. The puppies have had all the appropriate vaccinations for their age, and are weaned so can be away from their mother for a few hours. The puppies are at the venue for three hours and this includes an hour of them being away from people, and we only use breeders who are a maximum 30 minute drive away. Barking Yoga and the experienced breeders we use would not put the puppies in a situation which would be harmful to them.
WHERE DO THE PUPPIES COME FROM?
All our puppies come from local registered breeders. We vet all our breeders before the sessions and go to meet them at their house and meet the mother of the litter. These breeders love their dogs and would not take part in these sessions if it did not benefit their puppies. All breeders who have previously been involved have has positive experiences with no concerns.
HOW PUPPIES ARE INVOLVED WITH THE CLASS
You don't do yoga with the puppies but with the puppies running free around you. We don't force the puppies into any situations. We want to make it a happy, stress-free environment for everyone.
HOW MANY PUPPIES WILL THERE BE
The amount of puppies depends on the breeder and litter. There is usually a minimum of 6 puppies, but may be less at times if we think a puppy wants time away from people. There is maximum 16 participants in a session and never any more.
DETAILS OF THE SESSION
A price of a ticket is £26pp, and the minimum age is 11 years old. 11-16 year olds need to be accompanied by a participating adult. The session lasts an hour, with 45 minutes of yoga and the last 15 minutes you can either play with the puppies and socialise with other participants if the puppies are sleeping. We cannot guarantee the amount of time with the puppies you will individually get.
WHAT IF THE PUPPIES ARE SLEEPING?
It is almost guaranteed that the puppies will be asleep for at least part of your session. We allow the puppies to sleep where they want and this may mean you have a puppy or two fall asleep on your mat or you might not have a puppy fall asleep by you. At the end of the session you can go sit near a sleeping puppy but they are not to be woken up.
PURCHASING TICKETS &Â HOW OFTEN THEÂ SESSIONS ARE
We try to run atleast 1 session a month. This is dependant on the breeders we find, so it can sometimes be more and sometimes less, but new dates will be announced on our Instragram & mailing list. Tickets will go on sale 14-7 days before the session.
BENEFITS FOR PUPPIES
The sessions allow puppies to socialise with new people in a new stress-free environment.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
If you need to cancel you can receive a full refund until 3 days before the session, after that we unfortunately cannot offer a refund. If we end up having to cancel a session we will issue a full refund and offer priority tickets for our next session.
All cancellations with be subject to a £2 cancellation fee per ticket unless we have to cancel the session ourselves.
If you need to cancel within 3 days due to Covid-19 you have to provide a proof of a positive test.
